I have a funny, yet not so funny, story about this dress. I bought this dress for our girls trip to Vegas a few weeks back. On our last night we decided to see “O” at the Bellagio. Since two of us were preggers Vegas looked a little different this time around and a show was a nice little treat! It seemed Vegas was having a little bit of a taxi situation and not wanting to miss the show we decided we could no longer wait in the taxi line and would have to hoof it the 1.7 miles from Encore to The Bellagio. If I could paint the picture, I’m wearing a long dress with a sleeve and we are walking 1.7 miles pregnant in the desert and that’s not even the fun part yet. After the long and sweaty walk we were approaching show time and didn’t think we were going to make it. We had finally approached the bridge which would take us direclty into the Bellagio. This is where all the chaos began. The hundreds of people on the bridge just stopped, dead in their tracks. Apparently some sort of special fountain show was about to begin and there we found ourselves stuck. Wall to wall people, in the desert, in a long sleeve dress after walking pregnant 1.7 miles stuck on a bridge. I wish I could allow you to feel just what we were all feeling in this moment. Fear! I was so scared. I was extremely overheated and needed water and I was surrounded by people. Hundreds of them and I couldn’t breathe. Thank goodness an angel appeared out of no where and was there selling water and my other angel Courtney was able to find a way to her cash to pay the angel water lady. That was the most incredible water to have ever hit my lips. Mind you we were still not moving, but having cold water in my belly and laying that cold bottle on my neck felt like a lifesaver. I finally got to a point where I just had to push this belly through the crowd of people. The “I’m pregnant I really need to get through” wasn’t really getting me anywhere fast but I just prayed I would make it out of this crowd without passing out. After what felt like hours we were all finally able to push our way from this crowd and into the incredible air conditioner of the hotel. I’d never been so happy in all my life to find air. Trying to tell this story to my husband after the fact felt like such a let down. After I was done he sort of just looked at me like, meh. Guess this is one of those situations where you had to be in it to fully understand its magnitude. Man I was a hot mess literally and figuratively. On the brightside the dress is super comfy and you can walk 1.7 miles pregnant in the desert heat and survive being stuck on a crowded bridge, so by all accounts a winner of a dress 😉
Have a wonderful Wednesday!
